The Property
This property has been developed with self-sufficiency and sustainability in mind.
The outdoor kitchen has a large wood-burning cook stove, lab-grade counter tops, and 2 double-sink faucets with hot and cold running water. This is the perfect kitchen for canning and preserving food.
There are three, 3,000-gallon cisterns on the property: 1) holds potable water, 2) catches rainwater off the metal roof of the straw-bale home, and 3) catches rainwater off the mobile home's shingle roof.
The views from the property are simply amazing. The spectacular New Mexico light brought the likes of artist Georgia O'Keefe to the state. This photograph shows the view out the large picture windows on the straw-bale home.
